The new facilities promote more active lifestyles by integrating cycling and public transport use for regular journeys.

With 65% of everyday journeys in NI less than five miles, they are designed with convenience and security in mind and situated at key locations along the Glider G1 route including Dundonald Park & Ride, Ulster Hospital (Moat Park), Holywood Arches and Colin Connect Hub.

The project was funded by the Department for Infrastructure and Sustrans as part of the Interreg North-West Europe CHIPS programme.

Their opening follows the installation of other secure bike storage facilities installed at train and bus stations across Northern Ireland last year.
