We're campaigning to make it easier to walk and cycle and improve everyday journeys for everyone.

Sustrans' Manifesto for UK Government

We call upon the next government to:

  1. Provide sustained long-term investment in walking and cycling.
  2. Commit to a 20-minute neighbourhood planning principle for all cities and towns.
  3. Transform the school journey.
  4. Ensure places are accessible for everyone.
  5. Establish a UK-wide Greenways programme.

Support our Winter Appeal

There are over 16,000 miles of the National Cycle Network. But only 30% of them are traffic-free. We have ambitious plans to double this number.

Our Sustrans Winter Appeal will help us deliver 5,000 more traffic-free miles.

Moving the nation UK Walking and Cycling Alliance manifesto

Moving the nation

As a member of the Walking and Cycling Alliance, alongside the Ramblers, the Bicycle Association, Cycling UK, British Cycling and Living Streets, with a combined membership of more than 330,000 people, we launched a joint manifesto ‘Moving the Nation’ in June 2018.

This sets out a new vision of a future where everybody in the UK can live, work and play in places that are healthy, vibrant and that make walking and cycling the natural choice for short journeys.
