Active Travel Hubs in Northern Ireland

An Active Travel Hub embedded in the heart of a community can help get people walking, wheeling and cycling more, as well as raise awareness of how we travel. We now have three Hubs in Belfast and one in Derry~Londonderry.

Northern Ireland is increasingly facing many challenges of congestion, air pollution amid the climate crisis. Along with obesity and mental health problems.

We can help tackle these issues by providing practical local support so that more people can become active by walking and cycling.

Where are our Active Travel Hubs?

Belfast

C.S. Lewis Square, Newtownards Road, BT4 1HH

This well-established Hub in east Belfast has proved popular attracting people from all over the city.

It is located at the intersection of two urban greenways, the Connswater Community Greenway and the Comber Greenway.

It is a base for many of our programmes.

Contact us for more information.

Cathedral Gardens, Donegall St BT1 2GT (next to St Anne’s Cathedral)

This new Hub is located beside Ulster University’s new city campus.

It aims to work largely with students and staff, as well as local businesses to encourage more people to walk and cycle.

We are working in partnership with social enterprise, Big Loop Bikes which can supply reconditioned cycles.
