Todmorden and the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire
Centre Vale Park in Todmorden features mature oak and beech woodlands, open parkland, sculptures and formal gardens. You can easily access the park from Route 68, and in spring, the park is adorned with beautiful blossom trees along its paths
Renishaw Hall and Gardens, Derbyshire
Just off Route 67 in North Derbyshire is this historic house, which has been the seat of the Sitwell family for 400 years. Its gardens and parkland are full of blossom and bluebells at this time of year.
This section of Route 67 follows an old railway line and leads from here to Rother Valley Country Park, which is full of wide open spaces and lakes on the eastern edge of Sheffield.
River Foyle, Northern Ireland
There’s beautiful blossom lining the banks of the River Foyle, especially along the stretch of Route 93 in Derry.
This scenic route runs beside the river from Newbuildings to the Strathfoyle Greenway, offering a peaceful, traffic-free path that bursts into colour in spring. It’s an ideal time to walk, wheel or cycle the route and take in the changing season along one of Derry’s most tranquil green spaces.
Porters Wood, Woodbridge, Suffolk
Porter's Wood is a 3.35-hectare broadleaf woodland near Woodbridge in Suffolk, managed by the Woodland Trust. A well-used footpath runs along its western edge, making it a peaceful spot for a walk among native trees and seasonal wildlife.
It's not a huge detour from Route 1, which runs through Woodbridge and offers an easy detour into this quiet patch of countryside.
Connswater Community Greenway, Belfast
The Connswater Community Greenway runs through East Belfast, linking Victoria Park with C.S. Lewis Square and beyond. It follows the Connswater, Knock and Loop rivers.
It connects directly with the Comber Greenway, which forms part of Route 99 - a scenic way to explore East Belfast and out into County Down.
