I Bike Coordinator, Scotland

Sustrans, the charity that’s enabling people to travel by foot, bike or public transport for more of the journeys we make every day, is seeking to fill the following new key vacancy:

  • Contract: Permanent
  • Location: Based in Edinburgh / Glasgow / Inverness
  • Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Salary: £27,528 per annum
  • Closing date: 9am on Monday 10 August 2020
  • Reference: SUS2960

The role

The I Bike Programme is an initiative to create a culture of active travel (cycling, scooting and walking) in schools promoting safer, happier and healthier communities.

As well as delivering activities which promote active travel across the whole school community, I Bike aims to address two specific issues around cycling to school; the drop off in active travel between primary and secondary school and the gender gap which sees girls being less physically active than boys.

About you

With a good standard of education and committed to sustainable travel through walking, cycling and using public transport, you will be experienced at project management and delivery in the education, community, behavior change or physical activity setting.

Your leadership and motivational proficiency will complement your excellent verbal and written communications and organisational skills.

You will have experience of partnership working and have a good understanding of the I Bike and active travel work.  Line management ability and IT literacy are also required.  Enhanced Disclosure Scotland (PVGS) clearance is mandatory for this post.

Interviews

Interviews will take place via MS Teams / Zoom on Wednesday 19 August 2020.
