Lough Swilly Loop

This 38-mile, largely on-road route takes you from Derry out the banks of Lough Swilly in County Donegal. With beautiful views and some climbs, it’s an especially scenic cycle challenge.

Leaving Derry, the route climbs out to An Grianán Aileach and Inch Island. Here, you’ll get fantastic views over Lough Swilly, the Inis Eoghain Peninsula and the Sperrin Mountains to the south.

The route then falls toward the shore of Lough Swilly on quiet country roads, then veers southwards through Newtowncunningham.
