If you’re looking for a mostly flat ride through a historic landscape, this cycle route is for you.
Starting in Toomebridge on the banks of Lough Neagh, you’ll travel north past Lough Beg, a picturesque freshwater lake.
From here the route continues on to the village of Portglenone which has an ancient woodland with well-marked nature trails.
Next comes Ballymoney, one of the oldest towns in Ireland with many historic buildings in the town centre.
After that you'll arrive in Coleraine, which sits on the River Bann.
To the east of the town is Mountsandel Forest, which contains the Mount Sandel fort, an ancient site which has been claimed as the oldest site of human settlement in Ireland.
Leaving Coleraine, you can continue out to the seaside village of Castlerock, where you can admire the stunning coastal views.
There is an 18th-century ruined palace on the clifftop known as the Mussenden Temple, which is one of the most photographed scenes in Ireland.
The 17th-century Hezlett House is worth a visit and is found at the crossroads near the village.
