Route 536 of the National Cycle Network is a completely traffic-free route connecting Banbury with Thrapston via Towcester and Northampton.

This completely traffic-free route has reconnected local residents to the city centre and surrounding countryside.

The Northampton section runs on an off-road path along a picturesque area of the River Nene, joining up Beckets Park to Upton with links off to Nene Valley Retail Park, Sixfields Leisure Park, Briar Hill and Norbital - an 18-mile circular cycle route around Northampton.

Things to see and do

  • Sixfields Leisure Park for all of your food, cinema and shopping needs.
  • Beckets Park, a tranquil green corridor to the centre of Northampton and running along the bank of the River Nene.
