Luton to Dunstable and Sewell Greenway

Luton to Dunstable and Sewell Greenway, this route travels along the chalk grasslands around Dunstable and takes you on the traffic-free Sewell Greenway.

The route takes you out of Luton along Riverside Way.

Situated at the crossroads of two of Britain's oldest roads - Watling Street and the Icknield Way - the market town of Dunstable is steeped in history.

You can visit the Priory House Heritage Centre which offers an insight into the history of the area.

From Dunstable, you join the delightful Sewell Greenway to Stanbridge.

Following the old railway line between Dunstable and Stanbridgeford, the Sewell Greenway is rich in wildlife and provides a wonderful escape into nature for walkers, cyclists and horse riders.

After the greenway the route goes on the road all the way to Leighton Buzzard, passing through little Bedfordshire villages on the way, including Stanbridge with its 19th-century windmill.

The route continues into Leighton Buzzard along National Cycle Network Route 6, or you can extend your ride on to Milton Keynes and beyond.
