The route starts near Gillingham train station and follows National Route 25 north using quiet country roads. You travel through Milton on Stour and Wolverton before arriving at Stourhead House and Gardens owned by the National Trust.
Stourhead opened in the 1740s and has a unique Regency library, Chippendale furniture and a range of paintings. The 2,650-acre estate is great to explore and has ancient woods and parkland with rare and exotic trees.
The route then travels past the villages of Kilmington Common, Maiden Bradley, and Horningsham. From here you continue onto a lovely stretch through the Longleat Estate and Longleat Centre Parcs.
Longleat House is another route highlight well worth stopping for, with beautiful grounds. The final stretch takes you into Warminster on quiet roads.
