Travelling to Glastonbury 2025 actively

Sustrans is supporting Glastonbury to bring you the best cycle routes to Worthy Farm.

Glastonbury Festival is back for another year and if you’ve been lucky enough to get a ticket, why not travel there actively?

We’ve put together a collection of our favourite National Cycle Network routes in the south of England and Wales to help you to wheel or cycle to Worthy Farm.

Join the thousands of people who choose to pedal to one of the biggest and greenest music festivals on the planet.

Lydia has cycled to Glastonbury from Bristol

Cycling via the Festival Way (Route 33 & 41) and the Strawberry Line (Route 26) is lovely, flat and takes you through the Thatchers Cider farm which feels thoroughly appropriate en route to a festival.

My top tips are to make use of Bike To Glasto's excellent luggage service to get your tent and bag to site, letting you pedal lightly.

Keep your water bottles and waterproofs with you for the journey though, as you will still need to queue in the sun or rain.

An early start makes the most of the quiet roads and cooling mist across the levels. You might still need to carry your bag from the gate though so don't pack too heavily.

Remember you can also pop off to the supermarkets in Shepton Mallet on your bike if you need to stock up.

    Does cycling make us happier?

Can something as simple as walking, wheeling and cycling more have a big impact on how we feel? To mark International Day of Happiness we asked members of our Facebook page dedicated to The National Cycle Network if cycling and walking makes them feel happier.

  • View from behind of a woman and two children cycling on a bridleway across a wild, rough green space towards a woodland. The woman is wearing a large yellow backpack and her bike has two orange panniers and a further bag. Ahead of her, the children each have a small backpack and helmet. The weather looks mild and the sky is blue with clouds.
