Create Spaces for Nature on the National Cycle Network

Sustrans Big Give Christmas Challenge 2021

Many UK wildlife species are in steep decline.

The National Cycle Network can be part of the solution. With over 5,000 miles of traffic-free paths, the Network provides safe, linear routes for animals connecting their valuable habitats. With your support, the paths can offer wildlife the opportunity to thrive once more.

Which is why from 30 November to 7 December we're raising money to enable our ecologists to create spaces for nature on the Network.

We have a brand new map showing all of the independent bike shops open in your area.

It also shows any offers on bike services and equipment available to keyworkers during the pandemic.

Explore the National Cycle Network

As custodians of the National Cycle Network, we couldn't be happier to see the signed routes and paths across the UK used by millions of people every year. But we don't want to stop there. We want to keep making the Network better, getting more people using it and creating paths for everyone.

Streets for everyone

Creating streets that make walking, wheeling and cycling safer for everyone has wide-ranging benefits for local communities.

In our series of videos, local businesses and residents across the UK tell us why the changes made in their area matter to them.
