Getting out into the fresh air walking or on your bike burns calories, gets your heart pumping and even works the abs. It can also lift your mood, put a smile on your face and improve your general health and wellbeing – can a car journey do all that?

Public transport may not always be as affordable, reliable or efficient as we’d like it to be, but often, it can still provide a viable alternative to car travel.

A third of UK households own two or more cars or vans, and car numbers are increasing, so there’s a growing need to solve our traffic problem. Using car clubs and car-sharing schemes could provide part of the solution.
