The Big Pedal

The Big Pedal is the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge. It inspires pupils, staff and parents to choose two wheels for their journey to school. Ask your school to get involved!

Family walking together

Walking is a fantastic activity for you and your children. It's free, you can be spontaneous and it's a great way to spend quality time together.

Active or free play is the kind of play that kids get up to when left to their own devices. It's about imagining, exploring, being outside and enjoying open spaces.

Children love cycling - it's fast and fun, and gives them freedom and independence to get around. And you don’t need to wait until your kids are old enough to ride themselves to start enjoying the benefits of cycling as a family.

The school journey is a perfect opportunity for children to be active, learn about their local area, develop wider social networks and gain independence.
Walking, cycling or scootering to school are active choices proven to improve physical health and overall wellbeing.
