Getting started

school children fixing their bikes at school

Use our free, practical advice, information and resources to support young people in Wales to cycle, walk and scoot to school, and build a culture of active travel.

Enabling more young people to travel actively has far reaching benefits for their health in addition to reducing congestion around the school and improving the local environment.

Six-Week Guide

Increase active travel to school by using our step-by-step guide for young people in Wales. Designed for teachers, parents and governors, you’ll find guidance about events and curriculum activities.

Designed to be delivered over six weeks (though you can take longer if you wish) the programme culminates in a celebratory week of action – a perfect build- up to Sustrans’ Big Shift or our The Big Pedal.
