Sustrans 'Big Pedal' schools volunteers, London

Are you interested in encouraging more young people to get active in London?

Our school project officers are seeking enthusiastic and positive individuals to assist with this year's Big Pedal - the UK’s largest inter-school cycling and scooting challenge inspiring pupils, staff and parents to choose two wheels for their journey to school.

What's Big Pedal?

Sustrans Big Pedal is a hugely popular national event which takes place over ten days. On each day, schools compete to see who can get as many of their pupils, staff and parents cycling or scooting to school.

In London, our schools officers work with volunteers to help run exciting activities and fun games to get as many pupils cycling, scooting and walking during the event.

Find out more about the event on the Big Pedal website.

We cover most areas of London, please specify in your application if you have a preference of area.

Between 23 April – 4 of May  week days only. Early starts could be needed. Please specify if there are any days you can’t do during this time.

Our schools officers will need help with running events and delivering activities such as: Bike It Breakfasts, Cycle Skills sessions, Dr Bikes and after school clubs.

Extra info about the role

We will need to run a Disclosure check for anyone who applies. If you already have an up to date Disclosure check and have proof of this, please do let us know.

This volunteer role is perfect for anyone wanting to diversify their experience of working with young people.
