Volunteer auditor, National Cycle Network, London

We're looking for people initially to audit the barriers and Millennium Mileposts on the National Cycle Network. Once this has been completed we hope that you will look after after a specific part of your local route and potentially co-ordinate other volunteers.

What does a Sustrans auditor volunteer do?

We have National Cycle Network routes all over London and we rely on volunteers to maintain the paths.

We are looking for people to look after sections of the network that they live close to. You will be:

  • carrying out route checks
  • doing clean-ups
  • checking signage 
  • auditing barriers and Millennium Mileposts.


What we're looking for

We’re looking for people who:

  • are practical and enjoy being outdoors
  • have access to a smartphone and the ability to download the Survey 123 app
  • are self-motivated to carry out tasks independently
  • have good attention to detail
  • will keep in regular contact with Sustrans.


Time commitment

One day per month, flexible working hours. 


Training and support offered

  • Online re-signing project training and guidance.
  • Sustrans welcome session.
  • Ongoing support from Sustrans staff.
  • Access to Sustrans online learning platform.
