This great 10-mile traffic-free path runs between Long Eaton, Shipley Country Park and Heanor. The route is perfect for families because its flat and there is plenty to see and do on the way. The trail takes you through the beautiful Shipley Country Park, which is covers over 700 acres. The park has earned the Green Flag Award, the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales, every year since 2008. The park is a popular geo-cashing location and there are also two play areas next to the visitor centre - a toddlers play area, and an adventure playground for older children.
The whole of the section of the Nutbrook Trail that passes through Shipley Country Park can be used by walkers, cyclists and horse riders.
The Nutbrook Trail forms part of the longer National Cycle Network Route 67 which travels between Long Whatton near Loughborough to near Northallerton in Yorkshire.
