Take in some of the best sights North-East London has to offer on this scenic route that provides a nearly entirely traffic-free route from Waltham Forest all the way to Stratford.

The route begins at Blackhorse Road railway station, and follows very quiet residential roads, running along the south side of the Thames Water reservoirs for a short period, which provide attractive views, although unfortunately they are not currently open to the general public.

The route heads south through Walthamstow marshes, which is popular with local dog walkers, so cyclists need to be aware of any dogs not on leads. The marshes are particularly peaceful and provide a welcome break to the busy atmosphere of nearby Lea Bridge Road, so you may wish to take a break from your journey to explore them.

As the route heads through Hackney Marshes, it passes by the Waterworks Nature Reserve, which is open all year round and welcomes visitors to try out the sport and see local wildlife (entrance fee applies).

The remainder of the route runs along the River Lea, and joins the towpath before eventually branching off to Victoria Park where the route ends.
