Town and Community Councils in Wales

Town and community councils are an important part of many of the communities in Wales.  They are very knowledgeable about their local area and their councillors are in touch with local opinion.  That’s why Sustrans Cymru has been working with their umbrella body, One Voice Wales, to help get councils involved in the planning of the new networks of walking and cycling routes required by the Active Travel Act.  With the help of One Voice Wales we have produced a new guide to the Act, setting out why it is important and how community councils can have their say.  You can access a copy of the guide here.  Community councils, like everyone else in Wales, can register their interest in being involved in the consultation on the new plans by visiting this website: www.cyclinguk/activetravelwales
