Public facing centres across Swindon are celebrating the launch of free-to-use emergency bike repair kits this February.
Sustrans, in partnership with Swindon Travel Choices, have launched the kits in 6 community venues across Swindon to help the growing number of cyclists in Swindon to deal with any unexpected problems on the road.
The kits will include essential pieces to keep your bike on the road, including:
- Bicycle pump
- Multi-tool kit
- Puncture repair kits
- Tyre levers
- Bike oil
- Emergency back-up lights
- High-vis vests
These will be free for the public to use during the opening hours of each venue:
- Central Library
- North Swindon Library
- West Swindon Library
- Grange Community Leisure Centre
- Pinetrees Community Centre
- Dorcan Leisure Complex
Just ask at the venue reception to borrow any items from the emergency bike repair kit.
Amy Martin, Sustrans Project Coordinator, said:
“The emergency bike repair kits are a great initiative to keep people cycling even when the unexpected happens – such as a tyre puncture – when out and about. The launch of the kits is a real step towards making Swindon a more cycle-friendly town”.
