National Trust Ride - Tiverton, Knightshayes and Bampton

This rolling ride in Mid Devon takes you from the bustling town of Tiverton to the picturesque charter town of Bampton. On the way, you pass the wonderfully gothic Knightshayes country estate, which is well worth a visit.

The route starts in the lovely Mid Devonshire town of Tiverton.

Taking you through the centre of the town, the route heads north, passing People's Park. You will see the impressive entrance gates as you travel along Park Road.

Next, onto Bolham Lane and past a grand and gothic country estate called Knightshayes, owned by the National Trust.

This fantastic property has acres of gardens and parkland which are home to over 1200 unique plant species. The house was designed by William Burges, and is quirky and unusual. It has gargoyles, corbels and a medieval-inspired great hall.

From here the route continues up Vanpost Hill, before joining Old Tiverton Road.

This will take you into Bampton, a small historic town close to the Somerset border. With the whole centre of the town declared a conservation area, this is a charming place to visit.

Bampton is also on the edge of the Exmoor National Park, making this a great jumping off point to go exploring.
