National Route 810 of the National Cycle Network connects central Liverpool with the southern outskirts of Southport near Ainsdale, going via Liverpool and Everton football grounds, Crosby and Formby.

The route travels north from Liverpool city centre, passing close to the Liverpool and Everton football grounds before joining the Leed & Liverpool Canal towpath.

The route passes along the coast at Crosby, where you can see Antony Gormley's fascinating statues at Crosby beach.

The route also passes through Formby and close to a National Trust site on the coast, with a glorious beach and dramatic sand dunes.

It's surrounded by sweeping coastal pinewoods and home to the native red squirrel.
