System Tester and Documenter

In this role, you will be the lead in user acceptance testing (UAT) new functionality on the Sustrans Portal system and creating automated testing scripts.

About the role

As the new System Tester and Documenter, you will be the lead in user acceptance testing (UAT) new functionality on the Sustrans Portal system and creating automated testing scripts.

You will provide feedback to the developers, and update user documentation to reflect any changes made to the system. You'll be using software such as TestCafe Studio, Camtasia, Visio and Office 365, and will use JavaScript as part of the automated test script creation.

You will filter user support requests, allocating technical requests to the relevant programmer and responding directly to assistance requests via phone or email to provide instructions on how to complete tasks on the Portal.

This role will require travel and work at locations as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans. Candidates should be based within Scotland with regular travel expected to the Edinburgh Office.

 

About you

You should be competent using Javascript or similar programming languages and, in addition, have working knowledge of at least one of the following software packages:

  • TestCafe Studio
  • Camtasia
  • Visio
  • Office 365

You will have created easily understandable user documentation, ideally including video aids.

You will be able to communicate clearly and effectively, enabling those with less IT knowledge to use all documentation with ease.
