Senior Policy Advisor

The role

This is an exciting role integral to the delivery of the policy and public affairs plan.

You'll work to deliver Sustrans Scotland’s communications, policy and public affairs strategy - the provision of specialist advice on policy areas relevant to our work in Scotland.

About you

Using your experience of developing and implementing policy and public affairs strategies and delivery plans, you will support Sustrans public affairs work which will help:

  • influence decision-makers
  • engaging with political parties, civic societies and other key national stakeholders. 

You will have experience of communicating through all forms of media and of providing specialist advice, briefings and support on relevant policy topics.

You will have responded to policy consultations and have experience of developing policy positions. 

By monitoring contact with MSPs, you will be able to highlight gaps and opportunities and consolidate Sustrans presence at political conferences.

You will have the ability to communicate complex policy positions and key research findings and develop productive working relations by effective networking. 

You'll also have a good understanding of the policy and influencing context within which Sustrans works in Scotland and be passionate about sustainable transport.


Interviews will take place via MS Teams or Zoom during the week commencing Monday 24 August 2020.
