This exciting role will build on the success of a previous project with the aim of increasing walking and cycling in 22 primary, 3 secondary schools and one further education college as well as supporting 12 schools already engaged with the programme. This will include delivering a minimum of 5 School Streets closures which will minimise traffic around schools at drop off and pick up times.
With previous experience of working with children and young people and of partnership working within a community-based or environment project, you will have a proven ability to deliver engagement activities and promotional events.
Your excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, will enhance your ability to motivate and enthuse others around the topic of air quality.
Commitment to the promotion of sustainable transport and walking and cycling is essential as is an understanding of schools settings and the health benefits of active travel. Clearance by a DBS Disclosure check is mandatory for this role.
