As HGGT Active Travel Officer, this exciting new role will get involved in designing, developing and undertaking a programme of behaviour change activities that promote walking, cycling and public transport across a range of settings including schools, colleges, workplaces and communities.
This work is fundamental to achieving targets for a significant modal shift of at least 50% of all journeys being made by sustainable means, through activities, events and initiatives to raise the profile of active and sustainable travel.
With a good standard of education, you will have experience of working in behaviour change projects, of leading engagement activities, organising and running events and of initiating and building effective relationships with community groups and with partner organisations and agencies.
With excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships, you will be pro-active and be able to motivate and enthuse others.
Commitment to the promotion of sustainable transport is essential as is an understanding of the local sustainable transport issues and the health benefits of active travel. Clearance by an Enhanced DBS Disclosure check is mandatory for this role.
