Route 680 follows a section of the former Manchester, Buxton, Matlock and Midlands Junction Railway. The Monsal Trail starts at the Topley Pike junction and runs to Coombs viaduct, 1 mile south-east of Bakewell. It follows the valley of the River Wye and runs parallel to the A6. Easy access is available for all visitors at Hassop, Bakewell and Millers Dale stations. The trail is a great place to explore the wildlife and industrial history of the valley.
