What affects the way we use our streets?
The streets around our homes, schools and parks are places where we spend a lot of time.
They are made up of different things. Roads, pavements, cycle lanes. Trees and flowers, benches, squares, car parking, shop fronts.
The way that streets are designed controls how we use these spaces.
There are 10 Healthy Streets indicators which tell us if a street is a nice place to be. They are:

Using a map, work out the route from your house to your destination. Try and choose a journey which isn't too far.
Think about what you see on this journey. Is it busy or quiet? Are there green spaces?
Are people riding bikes and scooters or walking? Who would you normally do this journey with? Does it feel safe?
