Active Travel Promotions Officer

Salary: 
£21,965 - £24,586 pro rata per annum (dependent on relevant skills and experience)

This is an exciting and varied opportunity, to work alongside the Wokingham Borough Council’s “My Journey” sustainable travel programme team to help and inspire residents, employees and students to travel by alternative modes to the car.  Key responsibilities will include supporting the communication elements via traditional and social media, supporting the delivery of the Modeshisft STARS accreditation scheme and assisting in the running of events and initiatives within communities and workplaces.

 

With a good standard of education and experience of partnership working with local authorities, you will have experience of delivering physical activity or other behaviour change projects, working with different partners from different sectors and of delivering communications for a project through traditional and social media.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and the ability to motivate others will be key to your work on this project.  You will be IT literate with the ability to plan and prioritise your own workload and committed to the benefits of active travel and the promotion of sustainable transport.  DBS Enhanced Disclosure clearance is mandatory for this role.
