Who do I speak to at my local authority about school travel?

Cycling instructorThe department with responsibilty for school travel can vary from council to council. If you're not sure who to contact, try phoning the council switchboard and asking to speak to a School Travel Advisor, Road Safety Officer or Cycling Officer. If these people can't help you, they should at least be able to tell you who can!

If you have Healthy Schools or Eco-Schools contacts at your local authority, you could also ask them which of their colleagues can help with school travel issues.

If you're in England, the Directgov website can help you find the right team at your local council.
