Route 16
National Route 16 of the National Cycle Network is currently in two sections. The first section connects Stansted and Braintree and will continue to Witham. The second section will connect Basildon with Shoeburyness, near Southend-on-Sea.
Witham to Chelmsford will be connected by National Route 1 and Chelmsford to Basildon will be connected by National Route 13. Both routes await development.
Open Sections: The route is open between Stansted and Braintree and known as The Flitch Way. A short section is also open between Southend-on-Sea and Shoeburyness.
