Route 66

National Route 66National Route 66 of the National Cycle Network will run between Kingston Upon Hull and Manchester with a branch to Ashton-under-Lyne. The route will run via York, Leeds, Bradford, and Rochdale.

Open Sections: The route is open and signed between Kingston Upon Hull and York, following National Route 1 between Kingston Upon Hull and Cherry Burton (near Beverley). The route is mainly on quiet roads, although there is the option of following the traffic-free Hudson Way between Beverley and Market Weighton.

Between York and Manchester the route is still under development, however some significant sections are open:

Kingston Upon Hull to York is a part of the White Rose Cycle Route and is mapped on the Sustrans NN65B Yorkshire Wolds, York and Hull Discover map.

Thorp Arch to Wetherby is covered on the free "Wetherby Railway Path" leaflet available to download (pdf).

Leeds to Shipley is mapped on the free "Aire Valley Towpath" leaflet available to download (pdf).
