Online mapping
Sustrans mapping seeks to put you at the centre of your local area, with the facility to find information on schools, shops, green spaces, and other local amenities, as well as providing information on walking and cycling routes and visitor attractions where people are or where they are visiting. It also includes information on local public transport, car club locations etc. to further extend travel choices.
Discover how Sustrans is benefiting your community or region by finding out where our projects are operating in your area.
How to get started
Sustrans' online mapping has been designed for ease of use and includes detailed help for each tool. The help menu will appear by default the first time you access the mapping and is always available for future reference by selecting the 'Help' icon situated next to the map search area.
To get started just enter a postcode, town name, region or route you're interested in. Type the information in the appropriate box labelled 'Search our mapping' that appears throughout the website, then click 'Find' to view an appropriate overview map.
Seeing more detail
When looking at a map, you can check the route number and see more details on the route type by hovering your cursor over the route. There are thousands of attractions on the Network, including National Trust properties and Youth Hostels – many of these are illustrated by small icons. Clicking on an icon will reveal further details, where the name of the attraction usually links through to an external website for further information.
You can also find out information on each route by Route Number.
