Route: Swansea to Fishguard with two potential routes. National Route 4 goes via the coast, whilst National Route 47 is an inland route. Together they form two loops between Swansea and Carmarthen or between Carmarthen and Fishguard.

Distance: 143 miles. Map shows 214 miles of route, of which 41 are traffic-free.

The magnificent Millennium Coastal Park at Llanelli is one highlight of this route which also passes through the Pembroke Coast National Park with its spectacular landscape of rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, wooded estuaries and inland hills. The area is renowned as a place of sanctuary for wildlife.

The route can be accessed by the Heart of Wales Railway Line. Mainline stations at both Swansea and Fishguard also provide good public transport links for cyclists.
