Long distance rides
If you're thinking of a long distance ride you'll be spending more than one day cycling so will want to get the most out of your time away. By making cycling a part of your short break or holiday you'll ensure that you really do break away from it all.
The first thing you will notice is how much more you see by bike than you do by car and how relaxed you become whilst taking in the fresh air and viewing the best scenery the UK has to offer.
Don't forget that Sustrans publish an award-winning selection of route maps that you will find useful when planning longer trips.
The maps can be purchased from our online shop or by calling our information line on 0845 113 00 65.
The iconic long distance rides that the National Cycle Network is famous for are listed by country. Select your destination for inspirational route ideas to get you started:
Alternatively, search by route number (includes routes that are not yet complete or mapped).
