Safer:

57% of residents agree that traffic volumes have been reduced
This is further backed up by traffic volume and speed counts which were conducted at the outset and again when the project was complete.
73% of residents now feel that their street is safe for children to play on, over triple of those at the outset (23%)

Greener:

93% of residents say the street is greener and more attractive than it was

Sense of community:

87% now feel that the street is pedestrian friendly up from only 60% at the outset
54% of residents surveyed say they are socialising with people in their street who they didn't know before

Recommendation:

88% of those surveyed would recommend DIY Streets to their friends, family and neighbouring streets

Additional or ongoing resident involvement:

The residents of Iden Road have formed a constituted residents group, organised a street party, applied for community funds and held children mural painting events. They are also planning on holding a community action day to plant the herb garden.
