Islington walking and cycling routes
Islington is densely developed, and open space accounts for only 7% of the land in the Borough. Starting at Highbury Corner, the route will pass through Highbury Fields and on to Drayton Park passing Arsenal Stadium before entering Gillespie Park, a delightful linear park with an established nature reserve and tremendous views of the Stadium. Alternatively, the route follows suburban side streets to a newly created public space. Both routes then rejoin at Finsbury Park Station crossing the busy interchange to access Finsbury Park. Journeys will be made easier for local people, students and the many thousands of visitors to Arsenal Stadium.
