- Get Active Getting There! is running a student travel survey to find out how many people are walking, cycling, using public transport and driving to campus. Results are due mid March.
- Get Active Getting There! has featured in the University of Stirling's Annual Review (pdf) (page 10).
Previous news
- December 2008 - a baseline travel survey of 430 staff was carried out. 56% of staff were found to drive alone to campus although 20% of these would prefer to walk or cycle.
- December 2008 - an active travel audit was carried out in collaboration with Living Streets. Findings and recommendations will be reviewed and used by the University to establish and prioritise future active travel developments.
Upcoming events
Over the next couple of months the initiative will be focussing on:
- development of a new University of Stirling 'getting to campus' travel website
- production of a new University 'getting to campus' travel guide
- training staff and students as cycle instructors and walk leaders
- provision of 'Cycling with Confidence' training for staff and students.

Active Travel Scotland works in partnership with Paths to Health and Cycling Scotland to encourage students, staff and visitors to the University to travel in ways which will benefit their health, well-being and the environment.
By implementing and developing a range of innovative strategies the initiative aims to increase walking and cycling levels to, from and around the campus.
