North Tyneside - Get Moving
Get Moving promotes active travel among employees at Cobalt Business Park, Newcastle, to increase the number of people walking and cycling to work and improve physical and mental wellbeing.
The project also works with surrounding local communities, offering guided walks, rides and bike hire.
Activities and events
Bike loan
No bike? no problem! Get Moving can provide you with a loan bike so that you can take part. One week commuter trial loans are available to staff at Cobalt Business Park, helmets and accessories also available for free loan.
Cycle rides and courses
If you are a new or returning cyclist or just lack confidence, take advantage of on-road cycle skills training. A route planning service is available to help you plan your walk or cycle journey to work, and we can also pair you with a bike buddy to accompany you. We have regular rides to help build your confidence as well as maintenance sessions to show you how to keep our bike in top condition.
Health walks
The Cobalt walk group meets weekly to explore the Waggonway Trails that surround the business park. In addition we hold several family walk activities at Silverlink Biodiversity Park throughout the year as well as offer taster Nordic Walking sessions.
Latest News 
Workplaces at Cobalt competed in Sustrans Big Bike Challenge this July. Employees cycled to work as often as possible during the month long race, competing to be the first business to notch up a combined distance of over 800km around the virtual National Cycle Network. An amazing 2444 journeys to work were made, saving approximately 1570kg of carbon dioxide.
