- Generation Active has launched a new initiative to promote cycling amongst BME communities. The initiative has been very successful so far, with participants trying different bikes to build up confidence and the first group bike ride being launched in July.
- On 27th June Generation Active held 'Accrington Bike Fest '09' to celebrate cycling and walking across Hyndburn. Cycle stunt team, The Clan, performed, with opportunities to learn cycling skills from experienced riders, disability cycling, led family walks and rides and much more. - The Wheels For All Centre in the area is going from strength to strength with regular weekly attendances of around 70 people, the majority of whom have physical, mental or learning disabilities and come from right across the borough as well as neighbouring boroughs.

About Generation Active
Generation Active works to promote walking and cycling amongst hard to reach groups such as people with physical and mental health issues, young adults with mild learning issues, inactive young adults who are part of a weight management program and black and minority ethnic communities.
The project is coordinated Cycling Projects, a cycle initiatives charity with a focus on health and social inclusion and disability access.
