About Active Travel Milton Keynes
Active Travel Milton Keynes worked with the local community on the Lakes Estate in Bletchley to increase levels of physical activity and promote use of National Cycle Network Route 6 from Bletchley to Leighton Buzzard. Bletchley Bike Loan Scheme
Bletchley Bike Loan Scheme provided access to free bikes across the whole of Milton Keynes. The scheme was supported by Spotlight on Bletchley and local bike recycling company Re-Buy-Cycle with maintenance and repairs carried out by Milton Keynes Youth Offending Team.
Active Travel Milton Keynes would like to thank the people of Milton Keynes and the surrounding area for donating unused bikes to the scheme.
Cycling and Walking
Active Travel Milton Keynes provided cycle training for adults and children across Milton Keynes and guided bike rides gave people the opportunity to develop their skills and discover new routes.
Active Travel Milton Keynes also organised short guided walks in the Bletchley area giving people the opportunity to meet new people while promoting an active lifestyle.
Working with schools
Active Travel Milton Keynes helped local schools to ‘get on their bikes' with bike check days. Walking buses and cycle trains were set up with the help of parents and teachers to encourage school children to enjoy increased levels of fitness and confidence.
