The Lagan and Lough Cycle Way is a level, traffic-free cycle ride or walk connecting Lisburn, Belfast and Jordanstown. The route is suitable for novice and family cyclists of all ages and abilities and passes along the waterside of the Lagan Towpath and Belfast Lough. The route can be split easily into shorter sections by the use of trains, which carry cycles. There are several stations along the route including one at each end.
From Lisburn, the route follows a long river and canal side path to Shaws Bridge before passing through Clement Wilson Park and on into the centre of Belfast. After the ferry terminals and dockland area, you will cross onto the North Foreshore Path taking you on to Jordanstown, alongside the Belfast Lough, a large sea lake at the mouth of the River Lagan. The Belfast Lough Nature Reserve is an important feeding area for a large range of wildfowl including redshanks, oystercatchers and blacktailed godwits.
