This route uses National Route 14 to link the BALTIC gallery on the South Bank of the River Tyne in Gateshead to the Bill Quay Community Farm. Mostly flat and traffic-free, the route features a few short hills and two short on-road sections - at the start of the ride neat the BALTIC and around the AkzoNobel Factory.
BALTIC is the largest gallery of its kind in the world. It presents an ever-changing diverse programme of contemporary visual art ranging from blockbuster exhibitions to innovative new work and projects created by artists working within the local community.
Bill Quay Community Farm was set up in the mid 1980's and is home to a variety of livestock including many rare breeds. The farm also hosts a new art trail made up of 25 exhibits all with a farm life theme created by local artists.
