National Route 62 |
National Route 62 of the National Cycle Network is the main route through Liverpool on the Trans Pennine Trail (West) between Southport and Barnsley via the Liverpool Loopline, Widnes and Warrington.

National Route 56 connects Chester to Childwall (where it joins National Route 62) via Wallasey and Liverpool City Centre.

The Loop Line was lucky enough to benefit from six months of extra maintenance attention from the Future Jobs Fund team during 2010, and we were pleased to be able to keep on a small number of the team into 2011 to help with tree work. Now that this programme has ended we are focusing on increasing volunteer activity on the path, and have been holding volunteer work days every other Tuesday since November 2010. If you are interested in joining our team of regular volunteers, details of the dates and locations of the work days are always posted on http://www.projectdirtliverpool.com/
We have been working closely with The Bluecoat in Liverpool on an arts project for the northern section of the path. Artists have been working with local people to develop five pieces which will be transferred onto the path surface, and will act as waymarkers for local places of interest as well as works of art in their own right. We hope they will be installed in Spring 2011.
