National Route 5 |
The main open section of National Route 5 of the National Cycle Network in Staffordshire offers traffic free cycling between Barlaston and Kidsgrove through Stoke-on-Trent. Some small sections of National Route 5 and National Route 55 are open around Stafford.

National Route 54 |
National Route 54 is open between Walsall and Derby via Lichfield and Burton upon Trent and forms a part of the West Midlands Cycle Route. Cycle routes around Burton upon Trent and Uttoxeter are shown on a free map from Staffordshire CC called Cycling in East Staffordshire.
Route development
Hednesford, Staffordshire
Cannock Chase Borough Council have commenced work on the Chase Heritage Trail that will link the towns of Rugeley and Cannock through Cannock Chase and on into Hednesford. A section of the trail at Hednesford will be on the former Rawnsley Branch Line. To achieve this Sustrans has negotiated a licence with Network Rail enabling the link from Hednesford Park to the old branch line to be made.
