This circular route connects three of the commons in southwest London, Clapham, Wandsworth and Tooting Bec. Each has plenty to offer, so you can stop along the way, or do it as a non-stop ride.
Wandsworth Common has a café, exercise facilities, childrens play areas, including the Lady Allen Playground which is designed especially for children with disabilities. There is also a lake which can be used for fishing, if you have a permit.
If it's a warm day, it's worth considering a stop at the Lido in Tooting Bec Common, which is one of the largest outdoor pools in Europe. This common also has tennis courts and an athletics track.
Clapham Common has a newly refurbished bandstand in the centre, where there is also a café. In the northeast of the common there is a paddling pool, basketball courts and a small skate park. If you're cycling through on a weekend day you're likely to see all manor of sports being played including football, frisbee and maybe Aussie rules football.
The commons are linked by fairly quiet roads, but care is still needed on these sections, especially the major road crossings.
