This almost entirely traffic free route traverses the London Borough of Newham between Beckton and Victoria Park, via the 2012 Olympic site.
Starting by the modern University of East London campus, and overlooking London City Airport, the route quickly joins traffic free paths. For the majority of the route west you will be riding along the Greenway, an elevated path perched on top of the (fully enclosed!) Northern Outfall Sewer.
Particularly to the western end of the Greenway, the height of the route gives you views over surrounding residential areas, as well as the Olympic sites.
Constructed in 1880, the vast Royal Albert Dock was once considered part of the finest dock system in the world. No longer working docks, the waterways are used for water sports including windsurfing and rowing.
Victoria Park, in Hackney, is one of the largest parks in this area of London and has lakes, fountains, an adventure playground and a deer enclosure. Many other routes, including National Route 1 along the Lea Valley or Regent's Canal can be done from here.
