This circular route takes-in Osterley Park and the Brentford arm of the Grand Union Canal.

Osterley Park, and Osterley House in its centre, is one of the last surviving country estates in London. The spectacular mansion dates back to the late 18th century and is open to the public (though not every day so check the website if you are planning to visit).

The surrounding grounds are comprised of 100 acres of landscaped parkland and farmland. There is also a cafe and a farm shop with fresh vegetables and flowers.

The Brentford arm of the Grand Union Canal is a pleasant cycle with a predominantly rural feel. The Hanwell Flight of six locks adds historic interest, created in 1794 and now designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument.

Towpaths can become muddy following wet weather and due to the narrow nature of the routes and proximity to water extra care should be taken. Care should be taken when leaving and joining the canal at its junction with the A4 - Great West Road as this access is stepped. The short section of route along the A4 is off road on a dedicated cycle lane but care needs to be taken at junctions where side roads cross the route.
