Route development

With two Connect2 projects in the county and Watford aspiring to be a Cycling Demonstration Town (backed up by the Watford TravelSmart project), there is plenty to do in Hertfordshire. For the Broxbourne Connect2 scheme the timescale is particularly tight, since construction of the new school that will be a focus of the scheme, is already underway.

Unfortunately, land negotiations have been delayed as they have proved more complicated than anticipated. In Royston, negotiations with Network Rail were always expected to be complicated, but a date is already pencilled in for a closure of the railway line to allow the new crossing to go in.
